Resealable PE film lidding ‘M-ResinsTM’ by Bostik tested by RecyClass

According to the laboratory results ‘M-Resins^TM’ technology conforms to the current European PE film recycling stream provided it is used under specific conditions[1]. Since the technology is destined to be applied within a packaging structure, this approval does not apply automatically to the final packaging product. Hence the full lidding structure must be tested to receive a product approval. Another precondition is the presumption that ‘M-Resins^TM’ does not exceed 10% of the whole European LDPE flexible film market share. In case this threshold is exceeded, further testing will be required, and the current approval will be subject to a review.

The film samples obtained from the conversion process of the recycled material generated by extruding this technology may be used in high quality applications such as PE blown films with up to 25% of the material.

The results obtained from the testing contribute to the constructive developments within the design for recycling PE films and to improving recycling rates of this stream.
